Computer Network
A computer network is a group of interconnected nodes which are capable of sending or receiving the data electronically.
It also includes multiple devices which help in the communication between two different nodes, these are called as Network Devices such as Routers, Switches, Hubs, and Bridges.
Various types of Networks
1. Personal Area Network (PAN)
PAN is the most basic and smallest type of network, It is made up of wireless technology within the range of 10 meters.
2. Local Area Network (LAN)
LAN is one of the simplest type of network which works on wired technology, It connect groups of computer devices together across a short distances within a building to share the informations.
3. Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)
WLAN also has same functioning like a LAN, But it make use of wireless network technology such as Wi-Fi. These types of network don’t require that devices rely on physical cables to connect the network.
4. Wide Area Network (WAN)
WAN is slightly more complex than a LAN, WAN connect clients together across a longer physical distances. This allows nodes to be remotely connected over one large network to communicate even when they are miles apart.
5. Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)
These types of networks are huge then LAN but smaller when compared with WAN. A MAN is a computer network that connects nodes within a metropolitan area which could be a single large city, multiple cities or a towns.
6. Campus Area Network (CAN)
CAN is also a mini type of network which generally expand across several the buildings that are quite close to each other so users can share their resources.
7. Enterprise Private Network (EPN)
These types of networks are constructed and owned by businesses that wants to securely link its various location clients to share informative data.
